Voicemailbox Access

Mailbox Setup

When dialing into your mailbox for the first time, the Mailbox Setup and Initialization prompts will play. Your default PIN will be "1234".

To initialize your account:
  1. Dial the General Access Telephone Number, 724-444-4000.
  2. Enter your Mailbox number (ConnectTime Broadband 10-digit Phone Number) followed by the pound (#) key.
  3. Enter the default PIN, "1234" followed by the pound (#) key.
  4. If your Mailbox is not already initialized, you will hear, "Welcome to the Messaging Center. Since this is the first time you're logging in please complete the following steps in order to initialize your account."
  5. Enter your new PIN followed by the pound (#) key. Re-enter your PIN followed by the pound (#) key.
  6. Your Mailbox is now initialized.
  7. Continue on to the Mailbox setup tutorial, exit to the Main Menu, or hang up.
To record your Name Announcement during Setup:
  1. After creating a new PIN during initialization, continue to Mailbox Setup.
  2. After the prompt:
    Alright, let's continue. First, record your Name Announcement. Please state your first and last name after the beep. When finished, press the pound key.
  3. Speak your first and last name and then press the pound (#) key. If you are satisfied with the recording, press 1. To try again, press 2. To play your Mailbox number instead of your recorded name announcement, press 3.
  4. Once this step is complete, you will be returned to Mailbox Setup to record your greetings.
Record your Personal Greeting
Select which greeting (Personal or Default) you would like to record. The greeting that you record now is the greeting that will be played to callers until you change it by going to User Options from the Main Menu in the future.

Main Menu
To Listen to voicemail messages: Press 1
To Send a message: Press 4
To access other mailboxes: Press 6
To access User Options: Press 9
To Exit: Press *

Listen to Voicemail Messages
  1. Dial General Access Telephone Number.
  2. Enter Account Number / Mailbox Number followed by the pound (#) key.
  3. Enter PIN followed by the pound (#) key.
  4. You will hear the total number of new voicemail messages waiting in your Mailbox.
  5. Your voicemail messages will automatically play.
  6. Interrupt message playback at any time using the following keys:
    Replay Message: Press 1
    Save Message: Press 2
    Delete Message: Press 3
    Forward a copy of Message: Press 4
    (Note: Messages can only be forwarded to other ConnectTime Broadband Phone Users)
    Play Envelope Information: Press 6
    (sender, time/date sent)
    Return to Main Menu: Press *
To access voicemail through your web browser: Go to the MyPhone Portal at myphone.connecttime.net. Under the Voicemail menu option, select Mailbox to check for new voicemail messages, listen to and manage messages. To listen to any new message from your computer, click the speaker icon under 'Open'. You must have a media player and speakers installed and operational on your computer to play voicemail messages from your computer.

Mailbox Storage
When the mailbox has exceeded the voicemail message limit the subscriber will hear a mailbox full warning. This warning tells the subscriber upon login by the telephone that his mailbox is full and no more new messages may be received until he deletes the existing messages. An outside caller that attempts to leave a message for a subscriber whose mailbox is full will receive a message stating, "I'm sorry. This subscriber's mailbox is full and is unable to accept any more messages at this time." After the prompt is played the caller will be disconnected.

User Options Menu
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press the associated key to change the following settings of your mailbox:
    Greetings/Name Announcement: Press 1
    Modify PIN: Press 2
    Message Playback Options: Press 3
    Modify Notification Options: Press 4
    Create/Delete Sub-Mailboxes: Press 5
    Exit to Main Menu: Press 6
Greetings/Name Announcement
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press 1 to modify Greetings/Name Announcement.
  3. Press the associated key to Set Current Greeting:
    Modify Greetings: Press 1
    Modify Name Announcement: Press 2
    Set Current Greeting: Press 3
    Cancel and return to Main Menu: Press *
Modify Greetings
Select the greeting you would like to modify from the Greetings menu.
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press 1 from the User Options menu to select Greetings/Name Announcements.
  3. Press 1 to modify greetings.
  4. Select the greeting you would like to modify from the following Greeting menu:
    Select Generic Greeting: Press 1
    Select Extended Absence: Press 2
    Go Back to User Options Menu: Press *
  5. To review the current recording for this greeting, press 1.
  6. To keep the current recording, press 1.
  7. To begin recording a new greeting, wait for the beep.
  8. Begin recording your greeting and, when finished speaking, press the pound (#) key
  9. Your recording will automatically play back for review
  10. To keep this greeting, press 1. To record a new greeting press 2. To choose the default greeting press 3. To exit to the User Options Menu, press *.
Modify PIN
The PIN is used to login to your Mailbox by telephone and to personalize Mailbox features. To modify your PIN at any time by telephone:
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press 2 from the User Options menu
  3. Enter a new PIN from 4 and 15 digits (default), followed by the pound (#) key
  4. To confirm, re-enter your new PIN number, followed by the pound (#) key
Modify Message Playback Options
As a subscriber, you can change the order in which messages are played back. All urgent messages are played first, followed by non-urgent voicemails. You can have most recent voicemails play first, or the oldest delivered voicemails play first. The order in which voicemails are played is determined by a setting in Message Playback Options.

To modify this setting:
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press 3 from the User Options menu to modify message playback options:
    Change order of message playback: Press 1
    Return to User Options: Press *
Turn Off / On Envelope Information
Envelope Information identifies the sender, time and date a message was deposited in your mailbox. You can set this information to play automatically before each message, or you can turn it off and only play this information when you request it during message playback.
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press 3 from the User Options menu to modify message playback options
    Change order of message playback: Press 1
    Turn Off/On Envelope Information: Press 2
    Return to User Options: Press *

Greetings

There are two different types of greetings available, Generic and Extended Absence greeting. The Generic greeting can be set to tell callers you are unable to take the call. The Extended Absence greeting can be used to temporarily override the current greeting setting. Subscribers may use the Extended Absence to tell callers they will not available to take calls for a period of time. Once the subscriber is available again and turns off the Extended Absence greeting, the previously set current greeting is restored.

Set Current Greeting
You can change the greeting type you would like to play to callers at any time. To set the current greeting that is played, select 'greetings and name announcement' from the User Options menu.
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press 1 from the User Options menu to set the current greeting.
    Set the current greeting: Press 3
    Temporarily turn on/off the extended absence greeting: Press 1
    Exit and return to the User Options menu: Press *
Notification Options
Set up Notification Options to be automatically notified when you receive a new voicemail message. You can be notified by e-mail, telephone, or a message waiting indicator (MWI). To set up Notifications, you must go to the MyPhone Portal at myphone.connecttime.net. Log in using your assigned ConnectTime Broadband Phone username and password. Select Notifications on the left side navigation. Click Activate Notification to set Notification Choices or to set your Notification Rule. Click Set Up Notification to establish email addresses and/or telephone numbers to receive notification of new voicemail messages.

Modify Notification Options
Your Voicemail can alert you when a new message arrives in your Mailbox. To change your notification settings:
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press 4 from the User Options menu to modify notification options.
    Pause/resume notifications: Press 1
    Return to Main Menu: Press *
Sub-Mailboxes
Sub-mailboxes provide individual mailboxes for multiple users. Callers can wait for the beep and deposit a message in the main mailbox or press an associated key to leave a message in the sub-mailbox user's mailbox.

The main mailbox owner can create a sub-mailbox through the User Options menu when the sub-mailbox service is enabled. Each sub-mailbox user will inherit the same set of allowable services as the main mailbox. Sub-mailbox users will only have access to their own messages.

Note: Sub-Mailboxes cannot be created, accessed, or modified from the MyPhone Portal (myphone.connecttime.net). There is no connection between sub-mailboxes and the MyPhone Portal.

Create/Delete Sub-Mailboxes
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press 5 to create/delete sub-mailboxes
    To add a Sub-Mailbox: Press 1
    To remove a Sub-Mailbox: Press 2
    To Exit: Press *
Add a Sub-Mailbox
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press 5 from the User Options menu to select create/delete sub-mailboxes.
  3. Press 1 to add a sub-mailbox
  4. The system will play the new mailbox number
  5. Press 1 to record a personal name announcement or press 2 to use the default name announcement
  6. Your temporary PIN is your mailbox number
  7. To create a new PIN press 1.
  8. If you are done press 2.
  9. After sub-mailboxes have been created, you should change your main greeting to include sub-mailbox users.
Example of Generic Greeting with Sub-Mailboxes
"Hello. You have reached the Smith Family. We are currently unavailable. To leave a message for Tom press 1, to leave a message for Sue press 2, to leave a message for Jack press 3."

To Delete a Sub-Mailbox
  1. Press 9 from the Main Menu to hear the User Options menu.
  2. Press 5 from the User Options menu to select create/delete sub-mailboxes
  3. Press 2 to remove a sub-mailbox
  4. Press the pound key (#) when you hear the sub-mailbox you want to delete
  5. The system will play the number of the mailbox to be removed. Press 1 to confirm.
  6. Press * to cancel.
Note: When a sub-mailbox is deleted, mailbox numbers are not changed. For example, Tom has mailbox 1, Jim mailbox 2, and Mary mailbox 3. When Jim's mailbox number 2 is deleted, Tom will still have mailbox number 1 and Mary mailbox number 3.
